I know the Beau Hunks and love their music, but rarely if ever find it on blogs (at least their old Hal Roach Film Music and similar stuff). Thanks for the background on this - greatly appreciated.Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08070940850155130989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20710455.post-1160202011993874772006-10-07T02:20:00.000-04:002006-10-07T02:20:00.000-04:00Okay, in checking Amazon for the song listing to S...Okay, in checking Amazon for the song listing to Streets of Fire, I got sucked into reading the reader reviews. "Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young" is almost everyone's favorite, of course. One person insists they can't fall asleep at night without hearing it, which is strange to imagine since it's an incredibly loud, raucous rock and roll song that would keep me wired for hours after each spin. Another person insisted they wanted this album played at their wake, which might give even the Irish pause. And finally one person insisted it was their favorite song OF ALL TIME but got the title wrong, calling it "This Is What It Means To Be Young." I just find it very funny they would consider it their favorite track of all and take the time to type this into Amazon but not even know the chorus.Michael in New Yorkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01449933463450154603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20710455.post-1160201433860117392006-10-07T02:10:00.000-04:002006-10-07T02:10:00.000-04:00Whoops, I should have said Ry Cooder for Hold That...Whoops, I should have said Ry Cooder for Hold That Snake.Michael in New Yorkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01449933463450154603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20710455.post-1160201202500707722006-10-07T02:06:00.000-04:002006-10-07T02:06:00.000-04:00I know it well, being a closet Jim Steinman fan. (...I know it well, being a closet Jim Steinman fan. (I have a weakeness for EVERYTHING he does, including Air Supply, Bonnie Tyler, your Bonnie Tyler knockoff and even his solo album.) Actually, I think the whole Streets of Fire soundtrack is good, trashy fun, from the Stevie Nicks ripoff Sorceror to the fun Blasters numbers One Bad Stud and Hold That Snake (which I think is a sexual innuendo!) to Dan Hartman's enjoyable I Can Dream About You, my personal fave Countdown To Love and of course those Steinman raveups Tonight and Nowhere Fast. Dang, I'm gonna have to pull that CD out.Michael in New Yorkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01449933463450154603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20710455.post-1160179030404181292006-10-06T19:57:00.000-04:002006-10-06T19:57:00.000-04:00my obscure track is Tonight is What it means to be...my obscure track is
Tonight is What it means to be Young from the
Streets of Fire soundtrack.MartiniCocoahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12509335664000215080noreply@blogger.com
