Monkeyboy saw Spike Lee's new film
Inside Man and had more fun than he was expecting. espite a slightly deflating finale, he thought it was a solid genre flick. To get in the mood for this bank job, check out
my NY Post article highlighting some classic heist films from the past. (I wouldn't call them the best ones of all time, just five fun flicks.) Amongn the titles:
Bonnie and Clyde, Ocean's Eleven, Dog Day Afternoon, Goldfinger and
Heat. What movies are missing?
Rififi and
Charley Varrick to name two. What would you have included if there were more room?
Yes, just cut from the list when it got reduced to five only. better than the original too.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say my favorite is The Great Train Robbery
ReplyDeleteThe Sean Connery version from 79? Michael Crichton's best screenplay and certainly best direction, I'd say.
ReplyDeleteShooting Fish was great fun with Dan Futterman and Kate Beckinsale
