The Worst Bond Title Ever

Bond 22 is now officially called "Quantum of Solace." Good lord, are they TRYING to tamp down the success of "Casino Royale?" I can't even imagine someone at the box office asking for two tickets to "Quantum of Solace." Surely everyone will say, "The Bond movie." Dreadful, dreadful, dreadful.

surely that's just a working title. When they get to actual production, it will undoubtedly be changed to something more . . . Bondian(?)

Nope. That is the TITLE of the film announced with great fanfare. It's not a placekeeper. It was taken from a short story written by Ian Fleming. It's not only the worst Bond title by far (there's not really a contest in that, since they're all fairly reasonable, including A View To A Kill, which was pretty darn awkward) but it's also one of the worst names ever for ANY would-be blockbuster.

The working title for their films is always Bond 22, Bond 23, and so on, just as Woody Allen always uses Woody Allen's Fall Project or whatever.
