More On Doctor Who Spin-Off

I'm very excited about "Torchwood," the new BBC series that is a spin-off from the rebooted "Doctor Who." It's a relatively darker more adult series airing at 10 p.m. on Sundays (starting this week) rather than the family hour friendly "Who." And it stars the out John Barrowman, a strapping fellow who played the same character -- bisexual Captain Jack -- on "Who" and happens to also be a very good stage actor. He's quite blunt and funny and unapologetic -- in other words, the wave of the future. Blimey, drugs, Madonna and now openly gay actors: this blog is getting subversive. Actually, that's the point of "Torchwood," the character is bisexual but it's not a big deal. Unlike "Queer As Folk" and "The L Word," that casualness really is a big deal.
