Air America Is Dead; Long Live Nova M

The founders of Air America are leaving creditors in their wake to move on and found Nova M, another left-leaning radio network with a much less catchy name. In other words, Al Franken has every reason to run for the Senate: he's out of a job. At least, I assume he is. The article in MediaWeek mentions that hosts Mike Malloy, Dr. Mike Newcomb, San Francisco star Peter B. Collins and pollster John Zogby will join the new network. It also mentions only two stations: one in Phoenix and one in Arizona. So you've got Al Franken -- their biggest star -- not mentioned and of course the unhappy departure of Janeane Garofalo, bankruptcy and a new network with two lonely stations. Sad.
