UK Music Charts: Merry Xmas Everybody
Reunited boy band Take That is still on top of the album and singles charts in the UK. The most activity comes on the singles chart, where Gwen Stefani breaks into the Top 10 with "Wind It Up," Chris Cornell brings his Bond theme "You Know My Name" to #12 (it isn't in the top 40 yet in the US) and Morrissey croons the unconvincingly titled "I Just Want To See The Boy Happy" at #16. But the fun news is the return of holiday music, with Slade at #22 with its perennial favorite "Merry Christmas Everybody" and the Pogues are right behind at #23 with the lovable "Fairytale of New York," surely the only holiday tune that will ever feature a couplet like, "You scumbag, you maggot/You cheap lousy faggot."
