"The Vertical Hour" -- The Reviews
It looks like (mostly) raves for the first David Hare play to make its world premiere on Broadway. The NY Daily News heralds a briliant Broadway debut by Julianne Moore. The NY Post says it's one of the best plays Broadway has seen in years. And Variety, like everyone, loves Bill Nighy. (They're more mixed on the show as a whole.) The biggest naysayer, however, is the only one that matters: the NYT thinks the play is a mess and that Moore has stage presence but is horribly miscast. I think Moore does have stage chops, but I'd blame the play rather than her performance for any illfitting.
