Nicole Kidman Bigfoots Cynthia Nixon

Cynthia Nixon received raves for her performance in the Broadway play "Rabbit Hole." But Nicole Kidman will star in and produce the film version about a married couple struck down by tragedy. Kidman has a great lineup of films coming soon. She hasn't had an unqualified triumph since "The Hours" in 2002, but the varied movies she's made then have been wqorthy tries, for the most part. "Bewitched" and "The Stepford Wives" were awful misfires, but "Cold Mountain" was noble, "Birth" was interesting, "Dogville" was great if little seen, "The Human Stain" just a blip, "The Interpreter" fine, and "Happy Feet" an animated smash. Still, that's a lot of misses. But coming up she has the fantasy spectacle "The Golden Compass," which will be a huge hit and potentially great; the next Noah Bambauch project, a thriller with Daniel Craig hot off Bond, the Baz Luhrmann Aussie "Gone With The Wind"-like epic and "Rabbit Hole." No one can accuse her of being boring, that's for sure.
