Regan Books' LA Office Closes; Mantle Book Shunted Back To Author

Judith Regan earned the scorn of the world for her sleazy deal with OJ Simpson in which he would "confess" (sort of) to what might have happened IF he had killed Nicole Simpson. (OJ now insists he didn't even write that passage in the book.) Now Regan's LA office has officially shuttered; no surprise since she'd been fired. And one of her last typically bottom-feeding titles -- a pseudo-biography of Mickey Mantle presented as fiction -- has been shelved, with rights going back to the author. (Did he have to return his advance? I doubt it.) One thing you can bet on: Regan has made a LOT of money for publishers -- she'll be back.
