WB and UPN Merge -- What Shows Will Be Cancelled?

Okay, so The WB and UPN are merging into one network called The CW as of September. The trades have the news, but here's what viewers care about: what shows are safe and what shows are in danger of disappearing? Give a little edge to UPN shows like "Veronica Mars" since that network's topper will be in charge.

SAFE:
Gilmore Girls
Supernatural
Everybody Hates Chris
America's Next Top Model
Beauty and the Geek
Smallville
Aquaman (fall spinoff)
Reba
Friday Night Smackdown

IN DANGER:

Veronica Mars (critically beloved and a good fit with "Gilmore Girls")
Everwood (probably good for another season, unlike...)
One Tree Hill (which is fading fast)
Charmed
Living With Fran

The seven black sitcoms that helped UPN survive:

One on One
All Of Us
Girlfriends
Half and Half
Eve
Cuts
Love, Inc
(mostly long in the tooth, with maybe Girlfriends being saved to pair with "Everybody Hates Chris." At least three if not more will be gone.)

GONE

7th Heaven (already cancelled -- spinoff still a possibility)
Related (WB on Mondays)
South Beach
What I Like About You
Twins

So what happens with WPIX and WWOR? Will both show the same programming or will there be another station broadcasting in NY?

Les Moonves said that Veronica Mars would probably end up being paired with the Gilmore Girls, because that would be "a dream come true" for Dawn Ostroff, who loves VM but didn't have a decent lead-in at UPN.

So I think VM is safe and will probably move to Tuesdays after GG on the new CW network.

Everwood may be on the chopping block, which is too bad because I really like that show.

The UPN stations (owned by CBS) will turn into CW. The others will probably be orphaned, depending on the area they cover. I forgot Everwood (they're not running this week), but I think they'll be okay for one more season, whereas One Tree Hill looks much more vulnerable.

Based on everything I've read so far, it looks like the CW schedule will be something like this:

Mondays: Everybody Hates Chris/Girlfriends/Reba/What I Like About You (?)
Tuesdays: GG/Veronica Mars
Wednesdays: ANTM/Beauty and the Geek (perhaps sharing one slot as they "cycle")/Everwood (?)
Thursdays: Smallville/Supernatural
Fridays: Wrestling?

It's not clear where there will be room for Aquaman amidst all the other shows. Aquaman seems like a good match with Smallville but Supernatural is doing well and it makes sense to put the girl power shows on one night (GG/VM) and the hunky boy shows (SV/SN) on another.

You're right, Magnolia. It does make sense to pair GG with Veronica and put Supernatural with Smallville. But that's why everyone (including me) said at the beginning of THIS season. And The WB proved us wrong with their counterintuitive placement of Smallville and Everwood and GG and Supernatural. So though I too think it might happen, GG and Supernatural might stay wedded. Besides, Veronica Mars is more of an 8 p.m. show. Don't forget Sundays by the way -- maybe Veronica there with Everwood or something new (we can't forget, they'll have new shows to plug in). Some of these will undoubtedly be benchwarmers and definitely Geek and Top Model will rotate.

South Beach is a really good show! I hope it stays! Vanessa Williams really does a fantastic job in this one!

This is so fucking gay!! The Black shows need to survive as well as One Tree Hill. Everwood is a show that needs to be canceled because the story line is stupid. Even though I love Gilmore Girls, I would rather see One Tree Hill than GG.

I think that Charmed and One Tree Hill should be saved instead of some the stupid ass shit they are saving. Also, I hate who everkilled Related. That was the one show me and my mother could watch without having arguments over. The people in charge of this stupid procedure are on fucking crack.

You fucking idiots!!!!!!!!!
Your canceling good shows just because you want to compine some Tv stations...The Damn stations are making it on their own and now your going to get rid of peoples entertainment.. Ya'll are dumb fucks

If Girlfriends gets cut I will be very disappointed.

i am completely dissapointed in this new network. Just when i start liking a decent show they cancel it and put stupid shit on that is nothing but mindless tv. Related and everwood were great shows and i'm very upset that they are gone:( At least you kept Gilmore girls.
