I Read The News Today, Oh Boy
39 years ago today, John Lennon sat down with the January 17, 1967 edition of the Daily Mail and got inspired to write "A Day In The Life," the penultimate song on "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band." Now the handwritten lyrics to that song are up for auction (closed bidding ends on March 7) and could fetch millions. The line "I'd love to turn you on" prompted the BBC to ban the song for promoting drug use. Ain't that quaint?
