"Sybil" -- Do We Really Need A Remake?

"Sybil" -- the Sally Fields TV movie about a girl with lots and lots of personality -- is being remade with Jessica Lange as the psychiatrist and Tammy Blanchard (of "Life With Judy Garland: me and My Shadows") as Sybil. Is this really necessary?

No, but even the public service announcement tie-in (Martin as Clouseau has his cell phone on during a movie) is so remarkably unfunny I was scared.
