Surprise! No One Wants To Watch Movies And TV Shows On Their Cell Phones

Networks and movie studios are killing themselves to create one minute webisodes and other original material designed for cell phones and iPods. But people don't want to watch them, says the LA Times. Sure the quality and performance will get better and there WILL be a market for certain material -- like live sports programming or perhaps brief tidbits like a new music video you're crazy about and want to share with your friends. But a 45 minute broadcast of "24" or "Desperate Housewives" on a 1 by 1 inch screen? No way. Kids insist they much prefer to watch downloads on their computer. Go figure, since a computer screen is pretty darn large and provides a better picture than many TVs. "Why would I want to look at a video clip on my cellphone?" said one college student. "I'd rather make phone calls on it."
