Emmy Awards: Buzz For Helen Mirren Grows
Helen Mirren looks a lock to win an Emmy for Best Actress for her performance in "Elizabeth I." The HBO production cleaned up at the early Emmy awards, a ceremonty honoring technical categories before Sunday's big event. "The Simpsons" beat out "South Park's" Tom Cruise episode. "I guess this is what happens when you don't knock Scientology," "Simpsons" executive producer Al Jean said in accepting the Emmy onstage. Finally, Cloris Leachman (who is brilliant in "The Last Picture Show" has won a record eight primetime acting Emmys, breaking a tie with Mary Tyler Moore and Tracey Ullman (!). "I'm 80, and if your heart doesn't stop beating and you stay with it, I guess that's what can happen," said Leachman.
