MTV Video Music Awards

Yawn. I'm glad Justin Timberlake is bringing sexy back (was it ever gone?) and he had some serious dance moves worthy of Michael Jackson. But I'm not enamored of the song and his performance -- like most of them - was more about the choreography. The Raconteuers seemed to be working it out -- too bad we only heard snippets of them most of the time. Otherrwise, everyone looked as bored as I felt. Beyonce, OK Go, All American Rejects and so on -- nothing blew me away and of course everyone who got an award acted nonchalant because nothing else would be cool (Pink was beyond jaded). Ecept for the Pussycat Dolls, who rambled on thanking everyone like it was the Oscars but grouped together with Jessica Simpson it looked wonderfully like a stripper convention. Jack Black hit the right tone but somehow just wasn't that funny. Maybe the VMAs have gotten too big for its own good.
