But Did The Little Critic Laugh?
"The Little Dog Laughed" opened on Broadway last night and the reviews are strong. Clearly, it's a funny show, though the people I know who have seen it say it's basically all about the great performance of Julie White as a rapacious agent. (Is that redundant?) Unlike some critics, who compare the dialogue to Philip Barry, et al, they felt the show was kind of funny but pretty standard but elevated by her work. The New York Times had mostly good things to say. The NY Daily News liked it even more, and the NY Post thinks it is a simple, fun evening.

I thought it was embarassingly bad. Julie White, however, was fantastic. If not for her I would have left before intermission.
