Thought A New Detective Show Wouldn't Get Good Ratings? Psych!

USA's light new summer series "Psych" set a few records, scoring some 6.1 million viewers. How good is this? It IMPROVED on the season premiere of "Monk" (which is showing its age but still did well), it got these excellent numbers during the summer ( building on the success of "The Closer" on TNT) and it did it on a FRIDAY, a night that networks had almost abandoned in the last few years, just like they've turned off the lights on Saturday.
