A Remake Of "Sleuth?"
Quite unnecessary, I'd say, since the original film with Michael Caine and Laurence Olivier worked quite well. (Though it's been many years since I've seen it.) Still, since plays are often revived, why not film remakes of plays? And while Kenneth Branagh directing doesn't inspire confidence (he's seemed lost for years now), I can't help but be intrigued by the casting: Michael Caine takes over the role played by Olivier and Jude Law (who also starred in the hapless remake of Caine's "Alfie")takes over the role originally played by Caine. If nothing else, it will make for a great trivia question.
