"Roseanne's" Johnny Galecki Makes Big NYC Stage Debut

The New York Post makes a pointed reference to sitcom star Johnny Galecki's New York stage debut by talking up a nude scene where he apparently has nothing to be ashamed of. Okay. But what's really amusing is his story of trying to befriend male hustlers to research his role in Douglas Carter Beane's witty new comedy "The Little Dog Laughed."

Galecki' s hustler is a classic media creation: the mythical healthy and sober private school grad who just wants to make some extra cash. As Barbara Hoffman reports:
"Most of the guys I talked to were young and emaciated and driven by their addictions," he says. "I didn't learn a whole lot from those guys — but they were great kids, and a couple of them and I got close. They had a going-away party for me before I left for New York." He laughs. "I had to pay for it, but it was a sweet gesture!"
