Weekend Box Office: "Hoodwinked" Surprise Success

Variety gives the latest figures on the weekend movies. Basketball flick "Glory Road" lured some teen girls thanks to star Josh Lucas and Queen Latifah vehicle "Last Holiday" did ok too. Both are just above $13 mil.

The big surprise? "Hoodwinked," which soared on Saturday, thanks to family attendance. (See the trailer here.) Since this is a four day weekend, there's every reason to expect the indie CGI flick will become the Number One movie of the weekend, grossing more than its entire $15 mil budget in its first four days. Variety reports the story we've been keeping our eyes on for days.
