"High School Musical" Continues To Astonish

"High School Musical" was rerun on the Disney Channel for the 15th time on Friday November 3rd. It tied for the third-highest rated cable show of the week (behind only two football games on ESPN) and reached 4.9 million viewers. That's right, the 15th rerun of a cable TV musical that has already come out on DVD reached almost five million people and had a bigger audience than new episodes of "Gilmore Girls," "Everybody Hates Chris," "Veronica Mars," "Nip/Tuck," "30 Rock," "America's Next Top Model," "One Tree Hill," "The Rich List," "The OC," "Vanished," "Trading Spouses," "7th Heaven," and many others. That is mind-blowing. Here's a thought: Disney should just add "High School Musical" to its permanent schedule. Just keep repeating it every Friday night. Why the hell not?
