Oscar Foreign Film Shortlist

For the first time ever, the Oscars have announced a shortlist of nine movies up for the five Best Foreign Film Oscar slot. They are: "Days of Glory" (Algeria), "Water" (Canada), "After the Wedding" (Denmark), "Avenue Montaigne" (France), "The Lives of Others" (Germany), "Pan's Labyrinth" (Mexico), "Black Book" (The Netherlands), "Volver" (Spain) and "Vitus" (Switzerland).

I assume the five nominees will be Days Of Glory, Avenue Montaigne, The Lives of Others, Pan's Labyrinth and Volver, with Black Book and Water the likeliest spoilers. The likely winner is Volver in a very tight race with Pan's Labyrinth.
