Surfing Through A Boris Karloff Tribute

Directorboy sat through a triple feature at Film Forum today, all devoted to Boris Karloff. His report:

The Old Dark House (1932) -- It's insane. The very efeminate (and, I might add, cowardly) brother of a certain age in James Whale's bizarre movie is named Femm! The strange mix of tones makes this othewise middling movie fun to watch.
The Body Snatcher (1945) -- A lot of fun. Karloff was great though Bela Lugosi looked bloated and drugged out.
The Black Cat (1934) -- May have had some film buff appeal but it was wooden and slow. Bela was more the lead here and he doesn't seem to have Boris' acting chops.
