"America's Got Talent" -- Summer Fun Or Genuine Hit?

NBC desperately wants to think "America's Got Talent" is a breakout hit that can comepete during the regular season. (They've even penciled it in for Sundays in Jan. after football ends.) Please. Leave it in summer where it belongs. It would just be an annoyance any other time of the year.

That show is a horrible rip off of american idle that makes me sick to think about. Plus, according to that show, i conclude america has no talent.

Yes, but it's the eighth direct ripoff of Idol (many of them by Simon Cowell) and the first one to click in the US -- at least commercially. So it's not that easy to do these shows -- even when you're ripping off another one. And of course Idol owes a huge debt to Star search and the many other shows that preceded it.
