Tim Burton and Johnny Depp Filming "Sweeney Todd"

Is this good news? It certainly makes sense: Burton has a ghoulish sense of humor and Depp (who will be doing his own singing) once performed in a rock band. "The Nightmare Before Christmas" was a great musical but he didn't direct that, just produced it. (He did direct "Corpse Bride," which was pretty good.) But Burton hasn't made a good film since "Ed Wood" in 1994 and "Sweeney Todd" is a landmark musical that deserves to become a great, great film. As with so many Burton projects, it sounds promising but will probably disappoint.
