Nora Ephron Hits #1
I wasn't surprised Nora Ephron's new collection of essays hit the bestseller lists. But I AM surprised it leaped up to #1. You could read her first chapter here. And by the way, WE'RE BEING INVADED! That's what Pat Buchanan says in his new bestseller: Mexico is taking over the Southwest. Heck, it's only fair: we stole it from them in the first place. In paperback nonfiction, Truman Capote's In Cold Blood is still on the charts a year after "Capote." It might as well stay there since "Infamous" (covering the same period in his life) will be out any minute. And people are still buying James Frey's lies. Augusten Burroughs' memoir "Running With Scissors" is equally suspect (it's at #1) but at least it's entertaining.
