China Punishes Director Of "Summer Palace"
When you live in a totalitarian state, you have to constantly test the limits of the government to find out what's acceptable. Chinese director Lou Ye has just found out the lmits of his country. He took "Summer Palace" -- a soap opera of a movie about Tiananmen Square most notable for nudity, a frankness about people's unhappiness towards the government and a terrific female lead -- to Cannes. Now he's banned from making movies for five years.
