Guilty Pleasures

Q Magazine lists its top guilty pleasures -- songs they love that aren't cool. Does Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street" count as a guilty pleasure? I thought it was just a great mellow song.

I agree. Baker Street is not a bad tune when compared with the rest on the list. Yes, ELO could have had no less than five on that list -- but I love em For pure cheese where is the Captain and Tennille's "Love Will Keep Us Together"? How can you resist "I will, I will, I will"?

"I Will Survive" is a great song that only deserves guilty pleasure billing because we've all been forced to listen to it at every wedding, bar mitzvah, birthday party, and probably a good share of funerals and wakes since 1979. I think a five year moratorium on playing it in public is a fine idea, don't you?

My personal guilty pleasure is Terry Jacks' "Seasons In The Sun"--a song so depressing that it's hilarious.

I'm going with the entire Air Supply catalog. Oh, and "Longer" by Dan Fogelberg...
