The song hit compilation album series "Now" is up to album #23 and still going strong: it debuts at #1 on the Billboard charts. I remember when it began in the late 90s after a huge string of successes in the UK. People wondered if it would work -- those were probably the same people who thought kids didn't want to buy singles anymore, just $18 albums. The new album contains Fergie's "London Bridge" and Justin Timberlake's "SexyBack," among other smash hits. I did wonder if the proliferation of iTunes would hurt the series. I'll bet it will down the road: why wait for the compilation album when you could have the singles right away? Plus, you could buy all 16 tracks on the CD for lest than the $19 list price. But for now, "Now" is still a hit. The Top 10 per Billboard:
1. Various Artists -- Now 23
2. Josh Groban -- Awake
3. Keith Urban -- Love, Pain & The Whole Crazy Thing
4. Sugarland -- Enjoy The Ride
5. Soundtrack -- Hannah Montana
6. Jim Jones -- Hustler's P.O.M.E.
7. Birdman and Lil Wayne -- Like Father, Like Son
8. Carrie Underwood -- Some Hearts
9. Justin Timberlake -- FutureSex/LoveSounds
10. Dave Matthews Band -- Best Of What's Around Vol. 1

And the Christian spin-off "Wow" is extremely popular as well.
