"Dreamgirls" #1 At The Box Office

For the very first time since it debuted on Christmas Day, the musical "Dreamgirls" is #1 at the box office. Even when it grossed a terrific $8.5 million on Dec 25, it was beaten by "Night At The Museum." Sometimes it's fallen to third or fourth or even lower. But the figures for Wednesday, January 17 are in and thanks to slow competition and that Golden Globe win, "Dreamgirls" was the top-grossing movie, at least for one day. If it can keep that momentum going, it might just do it for the entire weekend. Certainly no decent new movies are coming out. And then on Tuesday the Oscar nominations are out.
