Why Old Media Shouldn't Try To Blog

The NYTimes just launched its brand spanking new tech blog Bits. They've been filling up their space with tiny items from the CES event. But the only event that truly mattered was the launch of the new iPod phone. And what did the NYTimes do? They threw an AP story on their website (despite having reporters AT the event) and though I kept checking the blog, it was HOURS after the initial announcement that they finally got around to posting an item. Lame.
