Overnight TV Ratings -- "Idol" Apparently Is A Hit

No slowing down for "American Idol," which just keeps getting bigger and bigger, averaging 29.44 million viewers during the awkward, winnowing down weeks where we wait to find out the final 12, which is when the ratings really hit high gear. I tired to watch "Gilmore Girls" again, but got annoyed when Richard was being such a jerk to his nurse and one of Emily's other servants was a "wacky" maid who whispered all her comments. I know they've had a long history of cowed servants on the show, but wouldn't it have been a nice change of pace if the nurse had been formidable and kept Emily and Richard in place with her no-nonsense behavior and they let her because both were so freaked out by his near-death? I mean, he's just had a life-changing experience of almost dying -- don't you think that should change his behavior (and that of his loving wife) if only for a little while?
