Overnight TV Ratings - "Friday Night Lights" Triumph!

Okay, not really. But Tuesday night's episode of "Friday Night Lights" was a repeat of the same episode aired Monday at 10 p.m. in place of "Studio 60." Since it's inconceivable to me that anyone who saw the show Monday would watch it again on Tuesday, I think it's fair to say add together the viewers of both nights for its total audience and that means this week "Friday Night Lights" was watched by a total of 12.2 million viewers. That's double the average the show has been getting over the past few weeks since its premiere. Hurrah! The overnights per MediaWeek's Marc Berman:

8 p.m.
1. Dancing With The Stars (ABC) -- 20.46 million viewers
2. NCIS (CBS) -- 15.88 mil
3. Standoff (FOX) -- 4.92 mil
4. Friday Night Lights repeat -- 3.91 mil
5. Gilmore Girls repeat (CW) -- 2.72 mil

9 p.m.
1. Dancing final half hour (ABC) -- 21.51 mil/Help Me Help You (ABC) -- 9.51 mil
2. House (FOX) -- 14.08 mil
3. The Unit (CBS) -- 11.35 mil
4. Law & Order: Criminal Intent (NBC) -- 8.52 mil
5. Veronica Mars (CW) -- 2.77 mil

10 p.m.
1. Law & Order: SVU (NBC) -- 13.22 mil
2. Boston Legal (ABC) -- 10.33 mil
3. CSI: NY repeat (CBS) -- 8.08 mil

YOU'RE the one that did that! Well, I should have said that almost no one would watch the debut and the repeat the next day. Now, since the show has painted Voodoo as his own worst enemy and we're rooting for the stuttering backup quarterback, I expect the show to flesh that character out and have Kyle Chandler reach out to him -- something interesting should happen rather than that kid be trouble. UNless of course its ruled he's simply ineligible and removed from the mix that way.
