I saw the musical production of Billy Elliot in London (with songs by Elton John) and it was great, sometimes even thrilling. Due on Broadway in the fall (assuming they can find a theater), its story of about the hard, dangerous life of miners (and the lad who wants to break away to dance) will be quite timely and moving, given the recent tragedy. The Independent has a nice profile of the first three lads who rotated in the lead. All of them are up for an Olivier (the equivalent of the Tony). I saw Liam Mower, who I believe is pictured in the middle.
