TV on DVD -- Exactly How Much Are They Selling?

DVD Exclusive, a trade paper that just closed shop, included total grosses for certain TV on DVD titles. This is NOT a definitive list or ranking of top sellers -- just consider this a peek at what some titles are actually making. The big surprise for me? Spielberg's Band of Brothers. I also liked how The OC collapsed in Season Two sales.

Band of Brothers -- $213 million
Family Guy Seasons 1 & 2 -- $124 million
Seinfeld Seasons 1 & 2 -- $106 million
Family Guy Season 3 -- $78 million
Family Guy: Stewie -- The Untold Story -- $78 million
Chappelle's Show Season 1 -- $75 million
24 Season One -- $62 million
Chappelle's Show Season 2 -- $60 million
The OC Season One -- $55 million
Lost Season One -- $43 million
Family Guy Season 4 -- $30 million
Oprah 20th Anniversary -- $30 million
The OC Season Two -- $22 million

$310 million in sales for Family Guy? No wonder it was brought back to life by Fox.

What about The X-Files? The Simpsons? The Sopranos?

Again, this is not a definitive list, just some random titles I was able to spot the grosses of in a trade paper. The X-Files was an early innovator in selling full season sets. But like The Sopranos, they were EXTREMELY expensive -- too expensive in my book, so I doubt they'd compare. The Simpsons has been a big grosser too. I think $20-$30 mil is a safe estimate for each season, which would mean around $200 to $300 mil for it as well.
