Hugh Laurie Gets Big Boost For "House"

He didn't get the Emmy nomination he so richly deserved. But actor Hugh Laurie did get a big pay raise that pushed his per-episode salary from about $50,000 each to $300,000 each. That means he'll get about $7 million a year plus a small piece of the backend. Not so much when you consider the show wil reap hundreds of millions in syndication and on DVD. Laurie had to extend his contract a year in order to renegotiate his salary so "House" will be around for at least four more years. That's a lot of mysterious illnesses and cranky asides to come up with.
