Was She Faking?

People are obsessing over Faith Hill's reaction shot after NOT winning Best Female Vocalist at the CMAs. (She lost to "American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood, yet another triumph for that series.) Since Hill waited till AFTER Carrie was announced and her reaction was so over-the-top, it seems obvious to me she was joking. These people have been practicing their acceptance speeches and polite oh-I'm-so-glad-they-won reaction shots since they were eight years old. Hill didn't just lose her mind; she was having fun. Decide for yourself: the video is here.

While on television they cut to the main camera shot of Underwood rather quickly, presumably there would be more footage of Faith Hill AFTER what everyone saw, and I think that would be the best indicator of what her true intentions were. Maybe a split second after they dropped that feed she broke out laughing? Or perhaps she threw her shoe at someone's head...

My guess is the network has that and if Faith really was joking she would be able to convince them to release that portion to back up her claims.

Good point. Though she did stalk off camera rather dramatically and maybe they didn't pan after her. Release the video! Free Faith Hill!
