Ennio Morricone To Receive Honorary Oscar

Great choice! (Even if it means Liz Smith will have to keep campaigning for Doris Day, who also deserves an honorary Oscar.) I can't believe Morricone never won. (See Marty, you're in good company.) Among his many, many brilliant scores are ones for "Days Of Heaven," "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" and "The Mission" (which is namechecked by Jack Black in the current romantic comedy "The Holiday"). He's got more than 550 movies listed on IMDB that use all or part of his music in one way or another. A true legend. I hope they don't give speeches and just play lengthy clips with his score intact -- that's all the tribute he needs.
