Jesse L. Martin To Play Marvin Gaye

Jesse L. Martin of Law & Order and Rent will play singer Marvin Gaye in a biopic about the final years of the singer's life. Great casting, as the photos in this story show. But will Martin do his own singing? I remember when Dennis Quaid was mocked for wanting to do his own singing in the Jerry Lee Lewis movie Great Balls of Fire. (Partly because the Killer was still alive and could dub in any rehearsal footage singing or goofing around they needed to make it authentic.) Now doing your own singing is almost expected.
