The Lowest Grossing Movie Of All Time

That would be "Zyzzyx Road," according to Variety. It grossed $30 back in February, when it opened in Dallas to $20 and then dropped 50% its second week to $10 and then disappeared forever. The film starred Tom Sizemore and its theatrical run was a legal obligation before it could be released on DVD. With a title like that, the headlines right themselves, don't they? Official records have only been kept since the early '80s, so something may have done worse back in the day when movies cost a dime. On the other hand, some 200 million tickets were sold a week back in the Thirties, so maybe it really is the worst grosser of all time.
