Opus Dei -- Secretive Catholic Group Speaks Out, Sort Of
A short time ago, the secretive (and unpleasant) far right Catholic group Opus Dei made news by publicly stating it wouldn't be attacking the summer blockbuster movie The Da Vinci Code starring Tom Hanks. Smart move, since they would have looked foolishly impotent it they had -- the movie's going to be a big hit and no one would have cared what Opus Dei said about it. (As a practicing Catholic, I don't mind saying Opus Dei are nasty, unChristian people with twisted ideas about flagellation and a hatred of sex and the human body). Today, in a nutty move proving how stupid they are, Opus Dei have called for changes in the movie -- even though they haven't seen it and refuse to say what changes they think need to be made. Well, that clears that up.

Don't they insist married people who join stop having sex with each other? And they wear medieval torture devices to dig into their skin all day long? Bizarre.
I love it when crazy people prove they're crazy.
They're basically a cult that feeds on vulnerable college students and lurks in the background with the rich and powerful. About as unChristian as is imaginable for a Catholicv order, but no wonder they work well at the Vatican.
