Surfing through Altman's New Movie
Early buzz on A Prairie Home Companion is mixed, though everyone is always happy to hear Meryl Streep sing. (She plays the fictional singing duo The Johnson Sisters alongside Lily Tomlin.) A proper review closer to release date, but one word of warning that it would be useful for everyone to know: there is no monologue. That seems a huge mistake to me since the monologue is the heart and soul of every Prairie Home Companion radio broadcast. But whatever you think of the decision, it's better not to spend the whole movie waiting for it like I did only to discover the truth at the end. So you've been warned.

How's Woody harrelson's singing?
Good. He and John C Reilly make a good pair of singing cowboys.
