Carville V Matalin...In High School

Here's a reality show premise I find goofily intriguing. A new Lifetime series called Election debuts this fall. In it, James Carville and Mary Matalin will each go head-to-head with their own candidates...for high school president. Frankly, I love it. The only problem is that it's on Lifetime. It's a perfect fit for MTV or CSPAN or one of the networks in the summer. But Lifetime? A good show on the wrong network just doesn't sit well. The fine British con artist series Hustle got lost on AMC because it didn't belong there. And Election makes no sense on Lifetime, though I suppose they'll emphasize the husband-and-wife angle on how competing affects their relationship -- which is exactly the least interesting part of the concept.
