"Apocalypto" Sets UK Record

It probably won't enjoy repeat business any more than it did in the US, but Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto" set an opening weekend record for a foreign language film in the UK. In all the talk about this $40 million film and how well it's doing, it's easy for everyone to forget that this is a subtitled film -- and not in french or Spanish either, but subtitled in a language almost no one uses. That makes the box office of "Apocalypto" all the more impressive. It's already one of the top-grossing foreign language films of all time, whatever else happens to it.
