Hollywood Loves Awards

A very amusing NYT piece on a fake awards show called the Hollywood Film Festival. They hand out awards to movies they often haven't even seen yet (Emilio Estevez's "Bobby" will get an award for its vast ensemble because that means more stars might show up for the event, for example.)It's just the business venture of a guy and his girlfriend and you'd think celebrities would be ashamed to take part in such a farce. But not if there's an award to be had and photographers on the red carpet. It makes the Golden Globes seem like the Nobel.
