End The Duets Madness
Must every aging pop star do a duets album with younger contemporaries to prove they're still relevant? Dionne Warwick is the latest -- she's digging up her classics and singing them with Gloria Estefan, Wynonna, Olivia Newton-John (!) and Celia Cruz among others. When was the last time one of these "event" albums was actually good? It's like those damn tribute albums. I looked at the track listing for a tribute to The Band (one of the greats) and I just didn't care.
