"The History Boys" On Film

The Evening Standard's critic says, "Much as I regret to say it, Nicholas Hytner's movie version of Alan Bennett's stage hit isn't half as good on film as it was in the theatre." Sadly, I must agree. My guest for a screening last night enjoyed it enough, but it isn't a patch on the show. If you've seen it live, don't spoil your memories with the film. If you didn't see it live, more's the pity.
